(More customer reviews)I just put this humidifier into service in our basement and, after two weeks, I like it a lot. It's attractive, quiet, has simple controls, is easy to empty and is doing it's job quite nicely. Let me say a bit more about "quiet". Like an air conditioner all dehumidifiers make some fan noise. This one is no exception although it seems at least as quiet as my previous two dehumidifiers. Then there is compressor noise and vibration. In this regard the Frigidaire is much quieter than my previous units. My Whirlpool unit vibrated so badly I had to put weights on it to keep it in one place and it could be heard two floors up. (It also was recalled two or three times for various defects including fire hazard. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend a Whirlpool.) I can't hear the Frigidaire at all on the first floor and I think I could sleep in the same room with it. Assuming it requires minimal maintenance over the next 10 years I will judge it a most satisfactory appliance.
